FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT GLASS TILE/S LEADED
WINDOW. In 1897, Frank Lloyd Wright patented a style of prismatic glass
tile designed to refract and diffuse light into the building from the outside for maximum
lighting efficiency. These tiles were generally used in store fronts as the transoms to the
larger plate glass display windows. This is an interesting example of Wrights early
ornamentation. Wright patterned this design for the Luxfer Prism Company in 1897. Some of
the tiles that were made, have a beautiful geometric flower design, a raindrop pattern, a
pleated design, and some were just plain. You are bidding on a set of nine tiles, one with
the F.L.W. flower pattern, two with the raindrop pattern, four plain ones, and two with
the panel design. In order to make clear glass in the 1890's, the glass houses of the day
added manganese to the glass batch. Adding this chemical resulted in crystal clear glass,
but it was only temporary. Exposure to sunlight over years, and years, caused this type of
glass to take on a slight lavender color. The same effect happens to 100 year old bottles
made out of this same glass These tiles were taken out of a store front window of a
building. They have taken on the light lavender color with age. These tiles are in
excellent condition, and were leaded into a window measuring approximately 12 3/4" x
12 7/8" suitable for an insert in a door or window. None of the tiles have cracks.
All the glass work is finished, and the window is ready to be used. I have provided a
picture that shows four close up views of the different tiles, and a view of the window
that you are bidding on. The window would make a really nice, over 100 year old gift, for
the architectural student, Frank Lloyd Wright collector, or housewarming gift. If you
would like more information. Please go to a web site I have put together, describing in
detail, these wonderful pieces of glass.

PRISM GLASS TILE/S FRANK LLOYD
WRIGHT STYLE In 1897, Frank Lloyd Wright patented a design of prismatic
glass tile, for the Luxfer Prism Glass Co. to refract and diffuse light into the building
from the outside for maximum lighting efficiency. These tiles were generally used in store
fronts as the transoms to the larger plate glass display windows. This is a variation of
this style of window. A competitor, The Solar Prism Co. of Cleveland, Ohio, made the tiles
used in this window. It uses the same principle that Luxfer designed by defusing light
into the building through the prisms on the back of the tiles. I've been collecting these
items for many years, and tiles from the Solar Prism Co. are some of the most difficult to
locate and have some of the best color. You are bidding on a set of nine tiles, one with
the, Starburst Design (center) and 8 of the plain design with the
bull's-eye pattern.

set of 6 In 1897, Frank Lloyd Wright patented a style of prismatic glass
tile designed to refract and diffuse light into the building from the outside for maximum
lighting efficiency. These tiles were generally used in store fronts as the transoms to the
larger plate glass display windows. This is an interesting example of Wrights early

raindrop pattern, and 5 with the plain design.. They have turned
lavender color with age.
Each tile is 4x4. These tiles are in excellent condition, but you may find
some chips around the edges where they were set into the leading that held them
together. The nicks do not in any way detract from the beauty of the tiles, and were not
visible when they were still surrounded by the lead. None of the tiles have cracks. Buyer
pays $8.00 priority mail shipping, expert packing, with the best materials. Money orders
ship nest day, personal checks take 10 days to clear. On 01/31/00 at 15:36:20 PST,
seller added the following information: The 5 similar tiles shown in the photo are
pleated design, not plain design, as mentioned in the above text. On Feb-05-00 at
19:40:16 PST, seller added the following information: It has come to my attention
that these are not Frank Lloyd Wright designed tiles. Sorry for any inconvenience. The
above tiles should have been described and titled "Luxfer tiles."

Frank Lloyd Wright Luxfer Tile Set - 3
-A great example of Wright early ornamentation is seen is his designs
for prism lights. Here are two of them, you get 2 of the plain ribbed tiles, and one of
his most popular . This decorative tile is based on a flower composed of circles and
squares. These , along with about a dozen others were designed in 1897, for the Luxfer
prism Patents Co. These tiles have a slight purple hue, from years of
exposure to the
sun. They were used above storefronts in mostly downtown buildings to
diffuse light
inside.. Both of the plain tiles have minor chips on the backside ridges, and the design
tile has one chip on the back about 1/4" , shown in one of the photos" No

FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT
"Dana-Thomas House" STYLE. This piece is one of those it
is hard to keep your eyes off of. The piece is I have been told a line-line replica of a
Frank Lloyd Wright designed lamp in the otherworldly "Dana-Thomas" house in
Springfield, Illinois. It is at minimum very much like a lamp in the house which I saw in
the house many years ago as a tourist before I acquired this piece and also saw again on
TV a few months ago on a film tour of the house, which I did not tape. I had this piece
stashed for myself but decided to go ahead and offer it up for a little excitement. The
piece is PREMIUM! The center panel is one foot tall by about six inches and runs into a
sheath surround and is encased within the square poles of the base but separated by space.
Just FABULOUS! The piece is two feet and three inches tall and trhe shade is huge at
TWENTY ONE AND ONE-HALF inches from side to side. This was a very expensive lamp and the
find of a lifetime! Please note all the detailing which is individually as strong as the
whole. Fascinating! (I have priced this piece very very well and wish to say for clarity
that if this piece does not sell I will not be able to negotiate on it after the sell as
it is spoken for by my husband's former partner who has always wanted it. That is rare for
me to do so I wanted to mention it.) This is a true find of a lifetime priced at the buy
of a lifetime so please enjoy bidding on this wonderful piece. Thank you for visiting me.

Authentic!! Frank Lloyd
Wright Floor Lamp. Frank Lloyd Wright originally designed this wooden
floor lamp for his own home, Taliesin, built in Spring Green, WI in 1911. Engaged in a
solid base, the shaft of the lamp supports a square shade that mimics the roof of a
pagoda, certainly one of FLW's signature forms. Gracefully reproportioned here, the lamp
now stands at 49"H x 15"W x 17"D. It's soft diffused light makes it a
wonderful reading lamp for any living room or office. Lamp base is made of cherry wood;
shade made of cherry wood and laminated Japanese paper. This reproduction is authorized by
the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation and is made by the only company licensed to reproduce
reproductions by the Foundation. The lamp is stamped with its own serial
production number
as a guarantee of authenticity. Lamp is new - in original packaging.

Lloyd Wright. Completed in 1950, the tower is part of the corporate headquarters campus of
S. C. Johnson in Racine, Wisconsin, makers of Pledge, Raid, and many other household

significance and unusual construction techniques and are considered some of Wright's best
works. Very few of these lighters were produced (I've heard only 1,000). This one's in

Vintage Frank Lloyd Wright
marionette Vintage Frank Lloyd
Wright, the famous architect and designer, marionette. Please note that I do not know
anything about marionettes and I am describing to the best of my ability and selling is.
It measures approx. 20". I believe he was hand-made. I don't know what he is made of:
it isn't composition or plastic, but what it feels and looks like to me is a hard, paper
mache. I pulled up one of his pant legs and there is old, newspaper glued around the
structure of his legs, and you can see yellowed newspaper from under his sleeves too. He
is hand painted, his eyes are blue. His hat and head are one piece. The hat feels like
paper mache and has a leather/rawhide band. His white hair and bushy eyebrows feel like
rabbit fur. His gray cape has a few tiny holes that I think the strings went through. He
is not marked. The strings need to be untangled but I am leaving that up to the buyer.
Overall I think is he in excellent condition. Buyer pays 4.30 shipping if in the United
States. Please allow 7 to 10 days for check to clear or send m.o. for quick shipping.
Thanks and good luck.

Christie's Auction Catalog
Frank Lloyd Wright I have been selling my collection of
Arts & Crafts auction catalogs and have saved the very best for last! This is the
Christie's New York catalog from December 8 & 11, 1993 that featured the sale of most
of the Tom Monaghan / Domino's Pizza collection of Frank Lloyd Wright furniture, windows,
and other items. Tom Monaghan was the most aggressive collector of high-end Wright items in
the late 1980's. His presence at auctions was the reason for the astronomical prices
Wright items went for at that time. Over a period of a few years, he amassed the finest
collection of Frank Lloyd Wright items in the world, much of which was displayed at
the the
Domino's headquarters in Michigan. Unfortunately, the collection was largely purchased
with money from loans that were secured by the items themselves, and had been bought at
vastly inflated prices due to Monaghan's bidding zeal. (Kinda like buying tech stocks on
margin!) Monaghan was forced to sell the collection off in the early 1990's. This auction
was a good part of it. It is a fantastic FLW sale, probably the best offering in one place
ever. In addition, the auction has many pages of great Gustav Stickley furniture, some
very rare early (1901) spindle furniture, and some great Harvey Ellis designs. There have
never to my knowledge been photos of the 1901 Stickley spindle settle and chair published
anywhere else, other than in a 1901 issue of The Craftsman magazine. There is also
Limberts; Dirk Van Erp and Elizabeth Burton lamps; Jarvie and Roycroft candlesticks;
Grueby; Teco; Rohlfs chairs; and some wonderful major pieces by Greene & Greene,
including a fantastic leaded glass hanging lamp from the Blacker House in Pasadena. This
was one of the most historic auctions of 20th Century furniture ever, and is a must for
the collector of Mission and Frank Lloyd Wright Furniture, or turn of the century art
pottery. 117 pages of the best 20th century items ever offered at auction, with most
pieces illustrated in FULL COLOR high quality photographs. The catalog is in excellent

close to his death in 1959. Although there is no publishing date on this brochure, it
looks old, and I assume was a publication available at the opening of the building. Please
e-mail me if you know more about it. Thanks.

Frank Lloyd Wright - Larkin
Building Poster I'm unable to provide you with a photo of this wonderful
poster (Santa didn't bring that digital camera!), so I will rely upon a thorough
description to detail this awesome rendering of one of Frank Lloyd Wright's best known
commercial works (sadly demolished in 1950 courtesy of some short-sighted pinheads in
Buffalo). It is unframed and measures 18 inches by 23 inches. It is new old stcck from
1988. Most of the print is a rendering of the Larkin Administration Building done in
silver ink on a white background with a black border. The elevation of the building is
shown from the rear corner looking toward the main Larkin factory complex - quite an
unusual and rarely captured perspective. Under the artwork is a black background with
silver lettering that reads, "THE CHEMICAL BANK ANNUAL EXHIBITION, FRANK LLOYD
WRIGHT'S LARKIN BUILDING, FEBRUARY 7 - MARCH 20, 1988, BURCHFIELD ART CENTER, ROCKWELL
HALL, BUFFALO STATE COLLEGE, JACK QUINAN, CURATOR". If you weren't able to view this
exhibit twelve years ago, or even if you did, here is your chance to add this print to
your collection of Larkin or Frank Lloyd Wright items. I have mine framed in silver,
hanging over my Larkin desk. Please e-mail me with any questions. Buyer will add $3.20 to
the final price for mailing in a Priority Mailing tube (more outside the US). Please click
on the "me" above to read more about my collections. Also, consider joining the
